SHIBAJE-SHISHILA

The name Montethadka (ಮೊಂಟೆತಡ್ಕ) was came to this place due to the popularity of Durga Matha and the exvoto ( ಹರಕೆ) of Cow bell made of bamboo ( ಮೊಂಟೆ) is presented to Sri Durgaparameshwari Amma for saving the cows from the tigers and other animals. Still you can find many cow bells hanging in temple which is made up of Bamboo. The village people worship Sri Durgaparameshwari Amma.

ASHWATHA MARA SHIBAJE

A wide spreaded Ashwatha (Peepal) Tree is there in Montethadka Sri Durgaparameshwari Ground (Adka). Every Year during Jathra Mahotsava the Sri Devi Murthi taken to this Ahwatha (Peepal) Tree and after Pooja will be taken back to temple.

Shibaje Sri Durgaparameshwari Jathra Mahootsava: Every Year February 27th, 28th and 29th/01st march Jathra Mahotsava renowed at this temple.

SHISHILESHWARA TEMPLE, SHISHILA

Shishileshwara Temple is a beautiful temple in shishila village located in Belthangady taluk near Dharmasthala. Shishila is also famous for the Matsya (Fish). The Mahashir fish is found in huge numbers in the Kapila river, that flows near the temple. The fishes in this river are believed to be sacred and Prasadam is offered to these fishes after puja everyday. One who feed the fishes in Kapila River can get rid of all types of skin disease. The famous Shishileshwara Temple is not so far from shibaje Durgaparameshwari Temple, we can reach shishila with in 30 minutes through shortcut. There are two shortcuts from shibaje to reach shishila which is one through Padantaje and another one through Perla, Ajiradka to Shishila.

ETTINA BHUJA, SHISHILA

Ettina Bhuja is Beutiful place located in Shishila Village of Belthangady Taluk of Dakshina Kannada District in Karnataka. Many Students, and youths like to climb Ettina Bhuja, We can see many nearby places villages like shibaje, Hatyadka from the top of Ettina Bhuja. Ettina Bhuja is the name derived from Kannada, which means "Ox's shoulder", In local Language people call it as 'ERU SUNIPU' The peak looks spectacular and the altitude of the peak is abt 1300m, Ettina Bhuja is much smaller than most other major peaks in Karnataka. In reality, but the fact that Shishila is at a low altitude made it a long way to climb up, The thought of climbing it looks more and more exciting! There is no Vehicle felicities to reach Ettina Bhuja, but we can hire vehicles and go till Kombar and then we need to go by walk to Ettina Bhuja. We can view the Ettina Bhuja from Anand Poojary Kombar's House. its 7 Km away from his house.

SHIBAJE SRI DURGA PARAMESHWARI TEMPLE BRAHAMAKALASHOSTAVA

The Astabanda Brahmakalashostava of Shibaje Sri Durgaparameshwari temple held from 2016 February 23rd to 29th. 95 percent of the renovation work is done as on date 13/012/016. The Brahmakalasha and Jatrostava stage, Tent/Shamiyana, Trading malls, Krishi Machineries exhibition stalls are also being made in 5-6 days. The whole work except granite, stone, plastering and wood works was done by the people of the village and neighbor villages by Shramadana. We must appreciate the work done by the villagers.

BRAHMA BAIDARKALA GARADI SHISHILA

Brahma Baidarkala Garadi is located in Vatla, Near Shishileshwara Temple, Shishila. Shree Brahma Baidarkala Garadi Kshetra is a religious place and is of much significance to the Billava community. This temple is dedicated to the twin cultural heroes Koti-Chennaya who lived in the 17th century is belonging to the Billawa community. Koti and Chennayya are legendary twin heroes characterized in the Tulu epic by same name, which is considered one of the two truly long epics of the Tulu-speaking people. VIGNESHWARA BHAT, PERLA

Damle Vigneshwara Bhat, Inguda was the School Teacher/Head Marste in Perla School during period of 1963 to 1995. He was the only one teacher in the school for a period of 23 years till 1986. During the period of 1992-1998 the school was providing milk for all the students by the government. But there was no sufficient staff for maintaining all these things, that time he was provided milk supplement using his own family member for help. Everyday 10.30 am all the students were going to his home for getting the milk (only 100 mtr distance from school) He is a great teacher and a builder of many students life.
